 Fox New's Bill O'Reilly 
 { Merely The Latest In A Long Line Of Loud-Mouthed 
 Right-Wing Hypocrites }

 Conservative talk-show host Bill O'Reilly and his one time assistant
 Andrea Mackris have settled their dueling lawsuits. Strangely, O'Reilly 
 acts as if he expects the whole thing to just disappear into the ether.

 Not so fast O'Reilly! Why would you settle such an insulting allegation
 of phone sex and worse, if you were falsely accused?

 Let's see, in general, there are several reasons a lawsuit might never
 make it in front of a judge. Here are but three examples.

 1. } The monetary risk faced by the client if actually found guilty
 in the lawsuit, is less than the likely cost of lawyers fees to defend 
 the case in court.

 Hmmm....

 2. } If the suit goes to court the details about the facts of the case
 that would inevitably escape into the public domain, might be 
 extremely embarassing to the client, { irregardless if the client is 
 actually legally culpable for what he is accused of } and cause 
 extreme damage to the client's business and personal reputations.

 Hmmm....

 3. } Both sides of the suit might determine that by going to trial
 the reputations and future job prospects of both accuser and 
 accused could be irreparably damaged, and so a meeting-in-the-middle, 
 would make sense to both parties, rather than continuing to trial.

 Hmmm....

 This O'Reilly situation sounds like a little bit of both options #2 
 and #3.

 Imagine that. Mr. Right-Wing moralistic Bill O'Reilly would rather 
 settle a lawsuit out of court, than face down an accuser who has
 alleged he was involved in some extremely tawdry and un-Christian
 communications with her, while she was in his employ.

 This one ranks waaaaaaaaay up there on the hypocrisy meter.
 About a 9.5 on a scale of 10. But, O'Reilly shouldn't worry. He 
 has a lot of company in Rush, Jimmy Swaggart, Bill Bennett, and
 even his good pal Jesse Jackson.

 Oh, forgot. Jesse doesn't count. He's a liberal.

 You have to give old Bill some credit, though He's not admitting 
 to anything. That's his story. And he's sticking to it.

 But, common sense says that you don't settle a case for what is 
 likely millions of dollars unless you're to be linked to something 
 uncouth. The fact that the scandal never made it before the 
 court,is besides the point.

 The case was settled to keep the whole thing. quiet. Any idiot 
 knows that. Otherwise why give away millions of dollars! Why 
 would O'Reilly want to set-up his "extortionist" for life? Why 
 would he allow her to get away with such a thing? To make a
 profit at his expense. And in ways that have nothing to do with
 money.

 Does this man think the whole world is stupid?

 Well, Andrea Mackris is undoubtedly happy now with a heftier 
 bank account. Even if she suffered a little embarassment of her 
 own. See option #3, above.

 And now this guy can continue spinning the whole situation to 
 his benefit. "Lies!" "Lies!" "Lies!"

 Simple fact is...there are lot of talk show hosts local and  national, 
 liberal as well as conservative, that have never had their names 
 linked to phone sex, masturbation, and vibrators. Not with a wife. 
 Not with an ex-girlfriend. Not with an escort. And certainly not 
 with an employee.

 O'Reilly should first reflect upon some of the personal choices 
 he's made in his own life, before he decides to lecture any adult
 film starlets on his talk show. As he's certainly no longer in a 
 position to throw stones at anyone.

 There it is folks. The Bill O'Reilly/Andrea Mackris sex scandal.
 Settled and covered up for all eternity. Swept under the rug as
 if it never happened..

 Except something did. We know that.

 So, if you want to see what a Right-Wing conservative hypocrite 
 looks like, just check him out on the Fox Cable News channel
 any week night.

 Now if only O'Reilly would reveal the secret as to how he can 
 twist his head all the way around to the back like that. Seems
 such a stunt would be awful stressful on the neck muscles.

 The no-spin zone. Yeah, right.
