 Osama Bin Laden - Dead and Alive

 Osama Bin Laden is back. Or so he wants the world to believe. With
 the aid of his sympathizers at al-Jazeera television network, Bin Laden
 yesterday, delivered a message praising recent terrorists attacts around 
 the world, including the murder of a U.S. diplomat in Jordan, and the 
 murder of almost 200 innocents - mostly young people - in Bali.

 This zealot is so twisted as he dares invoke the name of Allah to justify
 the actions of his bands of equally twisted merry-murderers around the
 world. But Bin Laden is reduced to a ghost figure now. A scratchy 
 voice on a recording. Either he is terrified of being captured to the point,
 that he wants to give Western intelligence ZERO visual cues, or perhaps 
 he is ill and frail, and doesn't want the world to see him in that condition. 
 Or lastly, he has in some manner changed his personal appearance. Perhaps
 he is disguised as a rabbi. Or God forbid as a woman.

 Perhaps not.

 If Osama Bin Laden is indeed alive then there is hope that he will eventually 
 be captured and brought to justice. Someone will betray him as there 
 exists no more honor amongst evil terrorists as exists amongst the slimiest 
 of underworld figures. Alas, a member of his own cadre is likely to drop 
 the dime on Bin Laden, or perhaps even murder him, so that they can 
 attain the absolute leadership of Al Qaeda, in Bin Laden's stead. Especially 
 if Osama is in ill health. Thus making him more likely to commit a mistake 
 of convience. -- Leading to his apprehension by Western authorities.

 Such a scenario is not unheard of in history. Betrayal by a confidant.

 If Bin Laden's organization sounds so very similar to the fictional Tony 
 Soprano's, it is just that the similarity exists. Because Osama Bin Laden,
 and the leadership of Al Qaeda are in fact a criminal construct. They exist 
 in a nether world of well-hidden caves, surviving on secret monetary 
 transactions. Shadowy figures with lifeless eyes, dressed in dusty Arab 
 garb, hunched over in the dark, evil fiends busily plotting their next murders. 
 -- All in the name of Allah.

 The West shall not stumble because of Osama Bin Laden and his terrorist
 plotting, anymore than the bite of a fly will fell an elephant. The sooner this 
 ghost is permanently removed from the world's stage, the sooner moderate 
 Arabs will regain their proud voice, and their strength, and take the battle 
 of cultures back to academia, the media, the United Nations, the Temple, 
 the Mosque, the Church, the global marketplace, the desert campfire, and 
 the corner cafe. 

 Locations where such battles betwixt civilized men, belong.
